{aloha}

Hawaii was absolutely beautiful. I took this picture on our last day. I went to the beach and sat and watched the sun come up. So peaceful, so relaxing.

My mom and myself at one of the scenic outlook spots. Pretty, huh?
Guess who we met in the airport? Yes, that's Rob Schneider ("You can do it! All night long!"). He was so nice and was in Maui doing a comedy show at a hotel down the road. So cool.
My dad was so jealous that we met him. Hmm, maybe if he had gone to get the luggage instead of sending the girls to do it, then he could have met him too. Am I right?

{How to Make a Fall Wreath}

I've been scoping out all the pretty fall wreaths out there in blogger land. Let me tell you, I've been SO impressed! So I decided that since my front door was barren, it needed some warming up with a fall wreath.

Enter, the cast of characters....a grapevine wreath (these come in a variety of sizes), silk flowers in your favorite colors.

Tools: Pliers with a wire cutting blade and scissors. However, I used my trauma shears from work because they're super sharm and can cut through almost anything!

You'll also need a hot glue gun and a few glue sticks.
Cut the flowers and leaves from the stems and place them on the wreath in your desired form.

Glue the flowers down once you've got them arranged the way you like.
Grab your favorite wreath hanger and voila! A pretty fall wreath for your door!

I'm linking this post up at Metamorphosis Monday! Hop over and check out the other inspiring projects!

{mending a broken heart}

This blog is full of happy things. Home decor, crafts, cooking, gardening, etc. Every now and then, though, the world isn't such a happy place and my heart is heavy.

I was dating a wonderful man. Our relationship ended. My heart is sad.

I'm focusing on rebuilding. Rebuilding my heart, my head and my faith.

If you're the praying type, please say a prayer for me. I'm hoping my heart heals soon so I can continue on my journey through life.

God has a bigger plan for me and I'm looking forward to seeing what's ahead for me.

Thanks for listening, friends.

{just some summer fun}

My sister and her finace, Wyatt are having their wedding reception catered by a local BBQ restaurant. Tonight we got to go with them for a tasting and decide on what meats and sides they want to have catered at their reception. I decided to have a little fun on the saddle outside...my weight loss total is lingering around 14lbs right now.

The boys at work decided to have a little fun with some leftover fireworks. As you can see, it was a smoky mess, even their fire alarm started going off.

This is one of my supervisors, Tony. Here, a fellow medic threw a smoke bomb, which caught the rug on fire. Does it surprise you that it's always the boys playing with fireworks?

On a girlie note, I got these fancy Bed Head makeup brushes. i wasn't sure how to store them. So I got a hurricane, filled it with split peas and stuck the brushes in. I think it looks really pretty, and who doesn't like pretty?

{New 'do}

What can I say? I'm a creature of habit! My BFF Jessica does my hair every 4 weeks and I always leave her salon feeling like a million bucks. I've had the same 'do for as long as I can remember, jaw length blonde (except in the winter, jaw length auburn with blonde highlites) Here it is today!

And here she is! The woman herself, Jessica! Funny thing, we met back in 2008 when I started working at the ambulance service. He husband is a medic also and they had just moved here from Ohio. One day at lunch, I was reading a Country Living magazine and he said, "you have to be friends with my wife. She doesn't have any friends here!" I thought what a weird guy. 4 weeks later at our academy graduation, I met her and we have been best buds ever since. She's my creaive muse when it comes to home deocrating. We have very similar decorating tastes and she's going to help me decorate my kitchen and dining room. Can't wait for that!
Today we made a pit stop by State Beauty Supply so I could pick up a few things......and $164 later, we left. *gulp* I can't believe I spent that much! On the other hand, I got gobs and gobs of shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, nail polish, makeup brushes, makeup, nail files, a new hair brush and other hair products. I went a little nuts, however, this should easily last me 6 months and it's all good quality products!

{A Few Little Pretties}

I got a new camera this week so I thought it'd be a good opportunity to test it out and take a few pictures around the house.

Love this little tree. I've been playing with the features on the camera, this is the macro. Pretty good if you ask me.

Got some new placemats today. Am I the only person who goes nuts over placemats? Probably so, but none the less, I love 'em. I got the wooden spools at the antique store and they look perfect on the table.
Summer in the living room

Suggestions on what to do with the table that the TV is on?!?! White perhaps?
